How we choose products
Last updated: 5 October 2026
Our buyer guides are research, not lab tests. We have not used, installed or tested the products we list, and we say so in each guide.
How we pick what goes in a guide
- Start with a real problem. Each guide begins with a common small-home problem in Indian flats, like a kitchen with no drainboard or clothes that won’t dry in the monsoon.
- Read the listing specs. We read the Amazon.in listing for size, material, stated load, what is in the box, and how it fits or mounts. When a listing contradicts itself, we point that out in the guide.
- Read buyer reviews. We look for repeated complaints, like rust, wrong sizes or weak fittings, and mention them when they matter. One review is not a pattern, and we don’t present reviews as our own results.
- Include budget options. Where a cheaper item does the job, we include it. We don’t list the most expensive option by default.
- Say who should skip it. Every guide has a “who it is not for” section. When the honest answer is “don’t buy anything”, or “measure first and you may not need it”, we say that.
What we don’t do
- No ranked “best” lists, and no star ratings of our own.
- No prices on the page. Prices change, so check today’s price on Amazon.
- No paid placements. Commission never decides what goes in a guide. See our affiliate disclosure.
Keeping guides current
Each guide shows when it was last updated and the date its specs and reviews were checked. If a listing changes or disappears, we update or remove it.
